Thanks for the reply Don!!
I noticed on my last outing that there was a ticking sound coming from the engine. It sounds just like a stuck or dry lifter
on a car engine. Oil level is good and the performance of the engine...
Is there much difference between Active Imaging and Totalscan?
I have upgraded from an HDS-12 Carbon to a HDS-12 Live. My transducer is a male 7 pin connector. The Live is a 9 pin female.
I ordered a 7 pin to a 9 pin connector part# 000-12571-001. It is the...
I had one on the front seat post and one on the back seat post. I got them from the Ranger Wear catalog. They quit selling them years ago.
My Vortex plastic dust covers are cracked. I recently saw a post that someone was selling aluminum covers that will fit on the Vortex hubs.
If I remember correctly they were four for $99.00. Does...
I need to replace my throttle cable. The existing cable is gummed-up & sticking. Just re-powered with 250 Pro XS four stroke.
I have a TH Marine hot foot with the latest modification for the four...
I just re-powered with a Pro XS 250 four stroke, from a Pro XS two stroke. The trim gauge is very erratic and is almost useless.
I understand that the current gauge is analog and the new engine is...
I have a friend that has a new Fury 23P that he wants to sell at a good price. What do you think about the Fury vrs. the Tempest?
Well, everything is a Moog point now. When the motor was checked out for the 100 hour, several things were discovered. Fuel rails need to be replaced, air/fuel diaphragm is bad, water is leaking at...
Shaft is not bogeyed up. I got a .750-16 cadium nut to check it, and it threads on with no problem. The kit I bought is the 840383A2 and it was new not opened.
The nut in that kit is a .750 but not...
The 840383A2 washer kit "nut" will not fit. Threads don't match. The thread pattern on the shaft is a 3/4 x 16 tpi.

This is what I have.
I bought the boat used. As far as I know, it has the original lower unit installed on it. How can I determine if it is indeed a Gen2 or a Gen1?
Hub number is 840237-C.
Nope, that's not the right one. Threads don't match. Nut required is a 3/4 x 16 threads per inch. It is a Torque Master II lower unit.
Looking for the Mercury part number for the correct prop nut. 2008 Mercury Pro XS, Torque Master lower unit. Serial # 1B547033.
Joe, I took out two plugs and it did the trick. Sorry for having trouble with your suggestion. I also had a phone conversation with Leon and he explained why taking out plugs makes a difference.
I...
I don't see that prop adjustments will make the motor run differently.
All holes have the plugs bin them. I will try taking a couple out. I'm running a 25 Tempest on my Z-21 currently. Do you have a...
Engine takes its time to throttle up. Does not do it every time, but even when it seems ok, I think it is still a little sluggish. Runs very well after getting on pad. I don't know the history of the...
Looking for a winch for a Ranger 2008 Z-21 trailer. Want to replace with the same as original.
I removed the bottom cowl port side today. It indeed had four bolts. Two up front and two in the rear. The only one that I had to remove a plug was the rear bottom bolt.
I also had to remove two...
Don, I don't understand what required info I have not included. Please let me know.
Thanks
So, how many screws have to come out?
How do you remove the bottom cowl, port side on a 250 Pro XS? Is there only two screws holding it on?
