Block 1 using the internet methods - made oil and self destructed.
Block 2 100% by the book - no oil made.
Can only tell you what I know.

Does it? Average normal WOT temps at the block sensor are 250F. I've never seen that reported on a Lowrance. Its usually around 140 odd and the block is definitely not at 140 when running as you say.
Set it to 180. Actual alarm will come on at 185 or so.
Just bad coincidence. Can't harm anything with NMEA really.
