It’s probably the connection to your helix 12. Humminbird had problems with that in the past. Mine was doing the same thing and I had to do a little tweaking on the connectors to fix it.

My helix 12 gen 2 is doing the same thing. I sent it back to Humminbird and they sent it back and said there was nothing wrong with my unit. So I hooked it back up and it is doing the same thing. So...
