Thank you!
Bill, this is a great project. I am interested in what you did to build your autoscan module? What board did you use? Feel free to pass along any information you would like to share.
Todd, thanks for the help here.
I can't wait to get one of these on here and get my Garmin package.
I’m unsure if this is the correct place to ask this. I am looking to go to the new Garmin Force TM once my current MG XI5 takes a dump. My question is, how far does the Garmin TM stick over the bow...
So I had the DVA come in and did the stator and switch box tests along with the resistance checks on the trigger. All checked out good and within specs.
I found a test ECU at a local shop, it’s...

Fuel pressure is good.
36 with key on, drops to 33 after about two minutes with pump off.
34 while engine is running, did not get a chance to get about 2K rpm as I tested on the hose.
Semper Fi, Jarhead.
I added a tiny tach mounted on the dash for this exact reason. The Mercury tach is adjusted as close as possible but is still off by as much as 1,000 rpm at times.
The tiny...
No, I haven’t. Work has called me away til the weekend. I will check the pressures this weekend.
leonreno, what is the question, I do not understand .....
Joe/Leon,
The motor doesn't look to have any paint missing on any bolt heads for the divider, heads, or really anything on powerhead.
Looking at the stator from underneath it looks new, my first...
Yes, it was idling on the hose while doing some checks.
Any ideas as if this could be fuel related or ignition related?
Here’s a photo of inside the midsection. It looks awfully wet and carboned up to me.
Am I correct in thinking this?
Leon, timing from 1 was 23*, highest cylinder was #2 @25* with others inside that variance.
Hole shot isn’t bad, 5 seconds or less with the Tempest 25P, when I put my 4 blade 24P I have to feather...
I pulled the LU off, all looks good and tight, just very carboned up and wet.
Also checked the fuel regulator screen for debris, it was clean. Pulled fuel lines from pulse pump to separator and...
Joe, I’ll check that later today. That never crossed my mind.
more details to come.
Joe, no I don’t know anyone that would loan out and ECU. Unless anyone here is in MO, I’m willing to come to them or cover shipping and even pay a small fee to rent it.
I had sent my ECU to get...
Leon,
Verified the .462 mark, and made accurate timing marks for all cylinders on the flywheel.
I will verify no obstructions in the cowling.
any other ideas that would cause this to not hit...
Joe, this is a tempest 25p.
I tried a 24P 4 blade and it didn’t change the RPMs much, just gave me a bit more lift.
what do you think could be causing a rich situation? It makes sense that I’d...
I double checked a few things today, ran some ignition tests with a meter. Link and sync is good, TPS is .245, ohmed out the coils and switch boxes.
Out of curiosity I checked the plugs, they...
Charger 195
GPS speed is 53 or so with 5000 rpm
trimmed with a rooster tail just below motor height or less
PTP is 2.75” below
This is a new to me boat, I have never seen it better.
Checked the intake air and head temp sensors, both checked good, slow to change but within spec.
I also checked the vacuum line going from the intake to the ECU for the MAP sensor, it was clean.
...
Joe, I will check sensors and report back.
Engine SN is OG350446
Issue at hand is not able to turn more than about 5,000 rpm under load.
115-120 psi on all cylinders
Injectors flowed and calibrated by Brucato FIS
TDR Reeds
pulse pump...
Thanks, Joe.
I am running a Tempest Plus 25P.
