Good news, turns out it was the automatic bilge that was bad. I have replaced it and all is working fine now. Thanks everyone for your help.

Thanks guys, I have also found that the in dash sonar comes on by itself when the batt cable is hooked up. I'll try disconnecting the bilge pump and see if that's it. (hope it is).
