Put a blow out ring on the Trophy and then you can dial your PVS holes to suit the rev on the initial hit.. The Blow out ring will prevent it from uncoupling on breakover..
Balance will help a lot.. Are you with a passenger or filling the passenger live well?
Pulse pump can be a leak point as well as the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm or a sticking injector.
Lanyard would kill engine as well as pump in the event of a catastrophe.
I've used large Shop Vac hose before.
If it is a fuel pump driver gone bad I would just put a relay under the cowl and wire the fuel pump for key on 12V...

Are you saying that when the bulb is flat that the motor will not even spin over when you try to start it but when you pump the bulb it will then spin over and start??
Swap that spark plug with another on the engine and see if the problem follows the spark plug.
Actually the 300X is considered a "Pro Max" as indicated on the cowling...
Gonna replace the stock speedo with a digital GPS speedo with recall also..

Surge on startup, sometimes die when dropped in gear, rough idle especially in gear. New plugs, TPS, Pulse pump. Runs fine other than slight intermittant miss in gear at idle....
I have some new GAMBLER decals coming as we speak. It has a 26P Trophy on it and so far with the limited runs I have here in our River I have run it to 77mph @ 6100ish..

Keep the injectors clean and they will last forever.. They love fuel and will drink it quick.. On the flip side though you can buy lots of fuel for what an Opti Compressor or Direct injectors cost...
