Put these on 5 years ago, hasn't leaked since.
I know you don't want to replace it but it is WELL worth the money.
...
willing to take that risk to get rid of the nuisance of the cracks
FYI - they did say it wasn't structural. It is only on one side of the boat about 2' apart. Would be nice if I could heat it, mold it together, spray some clear gel on it and mend it together.
To do the 2 that I have, I was quoted $2k... I'm sure $1k+ was labor.
thanks brother
anybody have any ideas?
Need a little help with trying out how to fix these cracks. I have done a paper test and the cracks are not deep. Is there a filler gel or is this sand and buff time? I've done a lot of fiberglass...
I've always wanted to start a thread on 4-strokes and hours. I have a 2008 F115 with 387 hours with 0 work. I know it's not a SHO but, I would hope more Yammy 4 strokers would 'fess up' on here.
Did mine in 1 1/2 hours. 2008f115
an ounce of prevention.......
most overlooked on the motor ---- have them pull the prop and check the prop-shaft. If it is at a dealer, shouldn't take long and they should have the dial to check...
I have a cousin in New Orleans that can't get ethanol free either - at least where he lives. If he does want it, he either has to travel to a marina that carries it or, he has to drive close to Amite.
I know there are additives to remove ethanol. I know there are system to remove water in gas. I also know there are those on this site that take precautions (as I do) to make sure the best fluids go...

Marshfly - curious question.......
Were or did you have any misfires, hiccups, or missing in the motor somewhere within that day or before (another day) this happened? At least within the last...
I have a 2004TLR 0408. The stuttering that I fixed on mine was the fuel filter and water separator filters. Did that and ran like a champ.
not a clue man. mystery. post a pic of the damage.
could also do a thread insert - possibly

sounds like a helicoil is in your future!
I agree with Bruce on this. I have been to testing facilities (not necessarily outboard or Yamaha for that matter) and there is a lot of money spent on R&D and testing. I know this may be a silly...
Depends on how fast/bad you want it. There is usually, always someone that has what you need.

Guys, talked to guy fishing this weekend and noticed he had a safety harness on his boat/motor because he does only river fishing. I found the link where he told me to get one. Said he called Sea-Dog...
Here’s is where I get it Jet
I buy 4 at a time. For four years for $100.
So, just saved you $7 a gallon.
Where I get all my Yammie parts is Amazon. The 4M oil is the best price I can find. At $31ish for a gallon and free shipping - it is a no-brainer.
Not until you pay the shipping and handling.
They have these for cars as well. A buddy of mine put one on his Expedition. We took it apart. We found a couple of resistors and a jumper. Basically, it fools your ECM to believe the air coming in...
