That's terrible! I had a similar mishap, but my results weren't nearly as severe, just a sore couple of fingers. I've learned my lesson, but I am very, very happy with those hitches!!

You can drop the Tatula Elite LH 8:1 gear set into your Coastal 150 SV TW, yes, but you lose the sealed drag. If you're fishing fresh water, it isn't an issue.
