Its actually non-conductive, thus why it insulates. The pin's connection is so tight that it bypasses the grease, so I was told. Basically the interference fit of the pins is tight enough to bypass...

True. But an occasional clean with a good plastic safe electronic cleaner would take care of that

I'm most likely the only kayaker on here, but with that being said , my Helix gets wet. On my old lowrance there were waterproof connections on the plugs, the Helix doesn't seem to have anything...

I have a Helix 9 g3n and I have a double bottom in both 2d and DI+. If the water is 3' deep say, I noticed it'll show another bottom at 10' or so... Any idea? I think I asked this a while back, but...

I doubt this as HB gives specs from what, 10.8 to 20v? IMO if you're within those ranges it should be ZERO issues

Keep in mind that the smaller Helix 9 did get a screen resolution upgrade this year along with a redesigned bezel and not one that is shared with the 10"

Ive had similar issues with my G3N Helix 9. I went out say Saturday, used it as it came from the factory, worked great. Updated and went out sunday same water etc, looked terrible...

What are you seeing, the dark images/grainy images?

I had three same issue , the dark SI / DI readings plus they weren't as sharp. They sent me the file without any problem

so you're saying that the connector at the back of the unit that houses the cables was causing your cables to not seat correctly? As far as interference, is it an electrical one? If so, use a ferrite...
