Lift up seats and screws can be seen.
I have 3 - 31 AGM in mine. Tight is right!
We've got a local Line-X dealer and I'm looking at that.
I'm an Admin. What issues are you having?
The thing to remember about the Spitfire - it will really lift the stern, giving you more leverage to lift the front, although your front loading won't allow for much.
You didn't state if prop was SS. 36-38 is pretty good with 208# of fuel, two batts, and a TM up front. If you've got to put the JP almost down, then ditch it. I fooled with several props until I...
I had a Fortrex 45" before I upgraded to the 45" Ultrex. Unless you fish in 3-4 footers, no need for longer.
Don't know if your hull is pad or semi-vee, but going to a 19" Spitfire X7 brought my hull to life.
Typical setback on a JP is 6", putting your prop in cleaner (less disturbed) water. I experienced the same thing. I had a 6" manual on a Lowe Stinger 18HP. Only gave 2mph.
Keep the same mindset on power - put the max recommended motor. You'll get better gas mileage and you'll cruise at the WOT of the 115. I would also add Trim Tabs.
I solved the problem by having a 12x24 aluminum shed built over a slab at the end of my driveway. Left one end open. Mahvelous.
Yes, small gear case and 2.08 gears. Here are pics. No scratches or dents.

I have the 20" pitch and the standard 2.08 gears. CT motors have the larger gears and larger props.
I have a 20" Laser II that came with my RT188. 4 years ago, I bought a 19" Spitfire X7 and the Laser has been on the shelf. In excellent condition and $160 to your door.
Yep, when you stern load a tin boat (gas, batteries, and accessories), tabs are essential.
Motor should be at hole#3. My props are listed in signature. I haven't put the LaserII on since I got the X7 - a fabulous prop for semi-vee hulls. Your gear ratio is the same - 2.07-1, so you...
Most 17s are packaged with 75hp. Since the 90 is the same engine and only gives 2-3mph, I'd spend the difference on accessories - Ultrex, 9" Birds
Towing is not as hard as unloading/loading the boat. Pulling out of a steep landing is very hard on tranny.
Lowe is owned by Brunswick, which owns 45 boat brands
My motor is at hole #3. When I owned a 2012 Stinger 18HP, had a 6" manual Atlas. 2mph. Don't waste your time and money on a plate. put a 4 blade prop on it for great lift and handling.
Persackleeeee! The amount of deck room is ridiculous. A friend has a Nitro Z18 and I have a lot more deck space than his rig. With the Ultrex in the water, it's the finest boat I've fished from in...
I have standard 2.08 gears.
Yep, mod-vee tins are snarky about handling; however, I put a 19" Spitfire X7 prop at hole #3 and my handling and lift issues went away. On turns, they slide without lower trim.
