FYI anyone who has the same problem (power-on switch not turning on or not shutting off). To get me thru this summer I wired a cheap "on-off" toggle switch into the small red wire between touch pad...
Yes, the ZX has it. TZX has the rockers.
Like Crank says, the Nupaint "moisturizer" is a compound, so I would think if your finish is good it's an unnecessary step. I would do 2 coats of the sealer as per instructions. I've been using this...
I think mine is on borrowed time now. It will power on if I disconnect/reconnect the power at battery, but it won't shut off at the panel. Anyway, I'm going to change to rockers this winter, but to...
ok, thanks. I'm going to check that out this week, as well as all the terminal connections.
Does anyone who has had their touchpad/"brainbox" fail ever determined if it was the pad vs the brainbox? After 20 years, mine (on 2002 ZX) is starting to act up. Twice last year and a couple times...
ok, thanks.... 4mm is slightly larger than 1/8" so either one would work.
Hey, thanks for your info...sorry if I confused anyone. So, I'm pretty sure that Yamaha pins are 1/8".
WHOOO now....Sorry, I just looked at my packages and realize I had the sizes reversed. So I have been using 5/32", but want to use the 1/8" which are smaller (and I think I saw somewhere that's what...
Thanks YAM. I know the 5/32 has wiggle room in the hole but it's WAY easier to use if that's ok. (I need a screw driver, bent pliers and a hammer to get the 1/8" ones out after they've been bent...
Re: SHO....I've been using 1/8" cotter pins for prop nut but they're a real pain in the butt to get out. Is there any problem using 5/32" pins???
Looks to me like you hit/dragged something or maybe picked up fishing line with a lure attached?? I would pull the prop and be sure it doesn't have line wrapped behind thrust washer...
A 2" inner diameter hose will work. The outer diameter can be up to 2 1/4" approx.. I know you need the full 2" inner diameter to fit all the cables/fuel line/wires, because of the way they're routed...
What about the LARGE fuses on engine (30amp I think)?
Mine (2018) measures 2 1/2" outside diameter, so would likely be 2" inside because of the "ribs".
Something not right there. You should have an equal number of BLACK wires on the negative terminal and equal number of RED wires on Positive terminal. Also, the wire SIZES should be the same on each...
Here's the service bulletin from Yamaha about how to tighten the newer black gaskets. I've never had a problem by doing this way....488216
You're right, there were a couple areas I had to do again. Anyway, I have 2 coats of sealer on now and it looks really good again.
Like Ripbass says, remount it with larger washers if there's enough of tabs left. But also, bolt a small piece of angle aluminum to the bottom of the mounting plate to take the weight (those chargers...
Follow-up for anyone interested.....I think I made 2 mistakes this time.
1) I didn't clean properly to get the old sealer off before moisturizing, so I may have just been trying to cut through too...
I didn't think my boat would fit in my garage either but on an angle and with motor turned hard over I have more room than I figured. You might get lucky...
I started this thread because 3 yrs ago I did the "moisturizer" and sealant system on my top cap (after wet sanding) and it came out amazing, looking almost as glossy as new gel. This winter I...
ok, thanks Mike
I've been using this for a few years, (really great product), but I forgot if there's a minimum air temp for applying the sealant??
