Correct, the starter does not activate when this happens, I will check voltage at the starter next time it does it. I have been told after I have ran the engine really hard I should idle for a few...
Have a 2014 150 fourstroke (serial #2b082617) that will not crank after running very hard (pulling kids on tube), the engine has never died on me or gave an alarm, it runs great but after I shut it...
What is the purpose of the black plastic piece that falls out when removing the lower unit on some Suzuki outboards (typically 300hp)? I did some research and it seems to be called the water tube...
One last flywheel question and i will officially move on, anybody ever seen a flywheel that looked good visually but was still bad? From what I understand if a flywheel is bad it will be obvious as...
I agree that the service manual is a must have and very helpful when troubleshooting but there's also good info that's not in the service manual that someone with expierence knows. Like I said, even...
Update - this motor did indeed have the wrong flywheel on it (customer had been trying to diagnose and was borrowing parts from friends and i believe he got confused with what was what) and timer...
Found the flywheel magnet orientation chart on CDI's website, the flywheel marks line up with the picture from the v4 & v6 1986-1987. But pretty sure this motor should fall under the 185/200/225 V6...
As the day went on things started getting worse again, really thinking it's more of a flywheel problem than anything. Hopefully can find a good used one to try
Based off the model number I gave can you tell if this is a cross flow or looper?
Or they could affect one another?
We try and use OEM everyy chance we get but sometimes were guilty of getting inpatient and we can get CDI overnight. I apologize if you've already answered this, so your saying the inner and outter...
I was kinda hoping adjusting the outter magnets wouldn't fix this motor (because I would be more confused than I already was) but it seems to have fixed it. I epoxied them in their proper spots and...
I understand that but the flywheel had the same results as the other one, all timer base wires had voltage (disconnected) except #5. I'll let you know the results tomorrow after I epoxy the magnets....
I tried another fly wheel and timer base (third one including original one) and no change, did notice the magnets on the second flywheel has shifted and some of the magnets are also touching on it...
That's the plan for tomorrow, I'm really just wanting to better understand the function of the magnets at this point. I've heard the outer magnets control stator output and the inner magnets control...
You certainly didn't answer my question either, the green timer base wire has no voltage while engine is cranking or running. I'm mainly just curious what affects the inner and outer flywheel magnets...
The timer base wires are blue, green and purple. The blue is top cylinder, purple is middle and green is bottom. Bottom cylinder on starboard side not firing and green timer base wire has no voltage...
So the outter magnets being in the wrong spot (or touching) wouldn't cause the timer base to not put out voltage? And just say the inner magnet was the problem wouldn't it still put out voltage but...
Working on a Evinrude 200 XP (E200STLCEB). No voltage on #5 timer base wire (green wire), got new timer base and it didn't help. Noticed the outside magnets of flywheel have moved and a few of the...
Working on a 25 hp evinrude (VE25ELESE) and it pees water all day on hose but when you put the exhaust under water (back into lake) it stops peeing and over heats. It's like the exhaust is pushing...
I have a few guys at my shop dealing with the same problem. Still haven't found the cure but I can guarantee it's not the MAP sensor (at least didn't fix the ones I'm dealing with). Let me know if...
I know this problem has been talked about a lot and I was curious if there was ever a found cure. Mercury XR6 starts good first thing in morning, idles good and runs good but when you stop to fish...
