I have also hit 60 with a 21 tempest. I just switched to a lithium 36v battery. Also just installed a one bankncharger to reduce weight in the back so I can draft shallower water. I will report back...

For the NMEA do you have to end caps/ resistors at the end of the connectors nothing open correct. And you shouldn’t need the black box for gen 4

I would start with one issue then tackle them in order. Software, loosing network, then bottom. For the bottom I would take it off auto and try setting it manually.
