6" Rapid Jack was the jack plate option from the factory. It's the best mechanical plate there is. If they still offer the Champion cut, you want that.
My 210 isn't as fast to get on plane as my 201 was even with 50 more hp. My opinion is that the beam forward hulls, 198, 200, 206 & 210 have more hull in the water than the 86" and early 90" hulls. ...
Your 204 may be a little wider up there than the 201 accounting for the pedal location. The 204 was one of the first 90" hulls, the 201, 86".

From what I've read, Mercury 4 stroke likes less pitch than the comparable 2 stroke and the SHO can run the same prop.

I like mine too, but it has 4 gauges besides the tach and speedo, so if I put anything bigger than a 9" graph in the center, I'll start covering them up.

If you have an 07 183 and it gets used regularly, it probably has a case of internal rust. Better to go new than find a used one same vintage.

Be aware before your call these guys that UFP/Dexter has discontinued the oil bath (GOLD) hubs. I'm in the process of changing mine over to grease now.
