Don't sweat it Sott. This is a typical response from this board moderator.
No, not the ecu but perhaps a fuel injector is rich or flooding. The Siemens injectors tend to run rich sometiems and may need prefessional service especially if motor was unused for long period of...
Lol...i would definitely put the ugly on my boat and don't look back:laugh:
When the 4.2L sho came out you could buy one for around 17k. You can do your own math but if you add 2 more cylinders to the 4.2L it equals to 5.6L. Max hp for 4.2L is 300hp. There is no way this V8...
Hope to see that motor bracket on the sho someday.
How did you verified its blown? If in fact fuel was heavily stabilized and motor runs fine at higher rpm I wouldn't worry. If it comtinues to smoke after using frsh fuel than I would be concerned.
Verify fuel pressure on YDS and take look at the sperkplugs coloration. Light color idicates motor is starving for fuel. Dark or black its running rich. Never a good idea to run the motor with fuel...
How's the furniture holding up?
My execution was horrible also. I was surprised to get a check.
Remove and clean the pressure release valve or service the water pump.
If all suspected areas were adressed as stated above I think you have a failing trim motor. Simple removal and install.
Imo, the water saparator filter should be installed before the lift pump. These lift pumps are low pressure and high volume so it may have a hard time pushing fuel through a large volume filter like...
Brad, I wouldn't run that motor again until the fuel pressure problem is resolved!
Lol, I have nothing agains evirude except that they are stuck with a 2 stroke only. Congrats on a good finish in bfl at Jordan.:thumb up2:
Looks like an off shore model with a motor that is bigger...
If shift lever is in nuetral ensure the shift rod on LU is also in nuetral.
Have a dealer run the serial number to see if any updates are needed for that motor.
Hang, plug in and play. Have a yamaha dealer verify everything and register the warrany.
I wouldn't bother with another 2 stroke especialy switching brands. It will cost 20k plus switching brands and all controls. On May 22 yamaha is introducing a new motor and if they use the same...
Ugh, thats ugly. Could have been any one or both. Definitely service the whole fuel system if you decide to rebuild.
We'll see. In the first two years the sho had a thrust bearing problems and all were replace at no owners expens. I like what i see from both, merc and yamaha. Can't say the same for evinrude. Will...
SS-431?
May 22 will be another announcement from the brand Y that suppose to take us to the "Extreme"! We'll see...
If the vst pump is dropping pressure it sounds like the fuel supply to that pump is being restricted. Check lift pumps and the clear cup filter for possible leak. The cup on that filter can be easely...
