I have the same boat, motor and prop. I added 2" plate extensions to my 6" manual jack plate for a total setback of 8" and am running 2" below the pad.

I used to own one and it was very stable for its size but it was too small for Lake of the Ozarks in the summertime. If you're fishing smaller lakes it will be great.

No need to disconnect to read individual battery voltages just read from positive to negative of each individual battery and should be around 12.5v.
