Cook bacon on the Weber all the time. Use the flat side of set of Grill Grates, does a nice job.

What i did on my deck was put one-foot square tile down and secured it with tile edging.
Not glued down just sitting there, not worried about it breaking, no one will be walking on it. grill just...
