I’m interested to hear more experiences with the Vevor hydraulic steering. Have heard a lot of good things about it and a few bad reviews but with seastar being $1000 more it’s tempting to consider...
I’m installing a larger fish finder mount beside the console on my ranger 482v. I currently use a ram mount that works good but the new larger mount I am installing uses larger diameter thru bolts. ...
I am considering adding one or two 106svs at the console. One of the requirements is that it needs to be able to read depth on plane at speed. Can a 106sv use a GT8HW-IH and GT54 with a Y cable? ...
I've used a Johnny Morris carbonlite 7ft Medium Power Fast Action rod for chatterbaits (3/8-3/4oz) for the past 5+ years. Can count on one hand how many fish I have lost. 12-15lb fluorocarbon line....
I will eventually replace my 1992 Fast Strike 150 with a new motor. I currently have about 6 inches total clearance in my garage with the motor turned and boat cocked sideways some. Can anyone that...
was this to get just the plate/registration? Or did they issue a title as well?
1992 Fast Strike 150 and 1992 Ranger. Had my boat out fishing and cranked the motor probably 20 times throughout the day. A few times I would turn the key and the solenoid would click, I would...
Great Job - I will eventually need to replace the carpet on my 1992 482V. How difficult was it to get the black "armrest" pieces off of the topcap? I have heard they are glued on.

hoping one in my arsenal will work. Looking for opinions on power/action.
What is the preferred rod for throwing finesse (1/4 oz) jigs?
I’ll be fishing as a Co-angler on the James River in October and have never fished or seen the river. Looking for advice on what kind of fishing to expect and tips for getting bites on the James.
Does anyone put anything over their transducer to protect it while towing and/or in the water? I think the chances of it getting hit with a rock or an object are pretty low but with it being so...
All years should be checked - I have seen them on a 1992.
I have used Blacktip as well for various jobs and am pleased with how it has held up. Crank68 - do you have any pics of your jobs? I am considering replacing my cockpit floor carpet with it.
good idea, I’ll use the cleat next time.
I got my jig hung up under my dock with 20lb florocarbon line. Tried knocking it loose with a plug knocker and the usual methods that I use but had no luck. After about 10mins I decided to break it...

This happens on brand new line - it is getting in a bind in the spool and snapping down at the spool. I am thinking that tightening up the spool tension knob some to try to prevent the line from...
I have had a problem with braid snapping mid cast while throwing heavier lures like A rigs and big ploppers. I guess the line gets a loop in it during the cast and stops it and it snaps right there...
Anyone here use a Mustang Accel 100 life vest? If so, are they supposed to be short in the front? I got the right size according to their sizing chart, however, it seems to be pretty short in the...
Thanks for that info Todd - That may be a deal breaker for me. I would have to buy TWO additional transducers since the 93sv comes with a GT52.
I hear you, the side imaging on the 997 is pretty good.
I am considering upgrading from my current older Humminbird 997c units from 2007 with a pair of new echomap plus 93sv units. Not interested in livescope at this time because it is out of my price...
The only way to know is to lift the boat off the bunks and check. All years can have them if they have sat on wet bunks for too long. The oldest boat I have seen that had them was an early 90s 482v.
