It is dropping pretty fast. Both generators are running 24/7. I decided to take my son crappie fishing and we ended up catching more bass than crappie.

They are intensively managed ponds. Your chances of catching a big fish are better than anywhere but people do go out there and don’t catch them. The ponds that I’ve been on are an hour or two south...
There’s so many fish that they don’t all spawn at the same time. There’s a big cove not far from our camp and I can usually catch bedding fish for 3 weeks straight. I was marshal for the elite...
You can purchase a chip from Boatlanes.com. It will overlay trails of the marked lanes as well as running lanes that are unmarked. I’ll be out there every weekend of March if you want to keep in...
Go shallow with soft plastics and hold on. They will be spawning. If you like frog fishing throw it as far up in the bushes and grass as you can. I was in Housen two weeks ago and caught fish in a...
Yes!
Yes, there will be spawning fish, post spawn and some pre spawn. The lake level is being kept low, be cautious running around.
Unfortunately Gibbons is no longer open.
The lake is in good shape. Good grass in places. Both generators have been running so the lake is dropping a little. Doesn’t seem to matter which direction you go. They are biting good. 3 good sized...
I have a place at Toledo and fish Toledo and Rayburn. The grass is in better shape on Toledo than it has been in a while. It’s been a while since I’ve found grass thick enough to bog down the...
I sent it to you. Let me know if you didn’t get it
I’ll pm you my number and you can text or call me
I fish the BFL as a boater but I started out as a co in 1998. I like the trail. I’ve met some really great people over the years. There’s been a few not so great but mostly good guys. It’s mostly...
What part of the lake are you staying at?
I have a place at poly gotch. I’ve been fishing down south. It’s been good. Seeing a lot of fish pull up on beds. Catch them on a ultravibe worm, frog and punching some grass.
At the current water level it shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve taken my ranger 520 way back a few of the creeks.
Last Sunday was the last day. All the rv folks had to move out as well. Local rumor is it will be developed and houses built around the lake but who knows.
Now that Gibbons is closed I’ll be at Somerville more.
Hard to pass up Fork but if you do and I’d go to Fayette over Somerville. If Fayette is slow Somerville is only 30 minutes away. Fayette has fixed up the camp ground. Paving the ramp parking lot soon...

I’ve fished the Bfl for years as well as others. I can shoot you my number if you have questions.
Fishing is good in April. The shad spawn is in full swing and things can get fun real quick. Tons of white bass and hybrids. Brush piles all around the lake for crappie. Largemouth fishing is good....
I fish Gibbons and you are more than welcome to join me. It’s a good lake but can be really tough. I also fish Rayburn, Toledo, Somerville and Fayette.
I was hired to do some work out there. The new company has the lease for 50 years. They plan on adding private docks for the cabins, revamp the swimming area at oak thicket, add a swim area to the...
It can still be an awesome lake. I've had 30-50 fish days. Some of the shorelines are getting hay grass. If you like white bass there's a ton of them too. Hopefully things workout with the sale of...
