ive spent many hours fiddling with this transducer as well as the SS3D. What you have seems to be about as good as it gets for shallow water DI. Ive even intensionally made my transducer out of...
Just my two cents here but I have been through quite a few lowrance and other units. Downscan on that AI3:1 was just never that good in my opinion. Decent in deep water but very poor in anything...
Not sure if this depth issue is just me or if thats just how it is? Its even an issue on 455
DI is a huge improvement on the HD. SI is very good in shallow water. Deeper than 20ft and things seem to fall off quick. Ive learned to be somewhat disappointed” in new sonar. Rarely are you...
Mount to the bottom of your hull will give you good on plane readings. Up to about 30mph.
not for everyone but works for me
Has anyone messed with “fishing mode”. IE general, shallow, freshwater, deepwater, etc?
specifically on a hds pro with the HD 3:1
At a glance it appears switching from “general” to “shallow”...
Was the right side of this image deeper than the left? Sloping down?
i noticed the 1075 on my new unit is really bad deeper than 20ft. Really dark like what you show.
I didnt notice the grainyness on 455 running 23.2 but could be I was fishing shallower that day. I dont recall the being the case but…
Did a bit more testing today. Calm water fairly clear. Both the 455 and 1075 side scan work well until you get over 20ft deep. Then the 455 is really grainy and the 1075 is basically unuseable.
Recently upgraded to an HDS pro with the 3:1HD from my live with the SS3D.
Water conditions not ideal. Mildly dirty water and windy turbulent water.
Unit is much quicker than my live. ...
Anybody uses the “follow my lure” feature of the livescanner? On the water I mean. Curious how well it works?

Maybe Brunswick can turn it around. Ive had decent luck the few times I have contacted Mercury.
Well you really need 4k resolution with that size of a unit to even be the same as a smaller unit thats HD. Its kind of silly that they dont rate screens/tvs at pixel per inch like phones do.
Thanks pguys
Is it possible to run a 3 in 1 transducer and use a separate 2D transducer like an airmar?
Or do you have to run a 2 in 1?
This would be the new 3 in 1 HD I am looking at
Thanks
What a realistic SI range to get good images on the mega frequency? Say 20ft deep.
Is there an improvement in SI quality at 455 over the ss3d?
But the fish only show up in the water column portion of the sidescan correct?
I havent seen much on this option. Does it just show the fish in the water column part of the side scan? Or everywhere?
Id like to upgrade to the active imaging HD. Here is my dilemma.
i currently have a 9” carbon and a 12” live unit.
option 1
Buy the 3100 module and transducer for around $1400, network...
Ill check these things.
thanks
I am using a airmar transducer with my ss3d. I wonder if that is causing some issues?
Yeah I have a blank card jn my unit. However somehow there is genesis live data on my cmap reveal card. Im not sure where this data came from. Possibly doenloaded off the lowrance network?
Still struggling a bit with this. Found where to turn on genesis live mapping and have a blank card in the unit. It looks like mapping turns on but I dont see anything on the screen. When I pull...
I had a unit do this 10 years ago. I realize they are supposed to be waterproof and probably are when they leave the factory but…. Now I try to keep mine out of the rain when possible.
Got it.
Thanks
