Thanks for the responses... I'll pay more attention to the difference on the trailer vs on the water. As long as I know what it really is versus what the gauge is reading I should be fine......

I have a 2007 188VS and the gas gauge seems to be off. It appears that when the fuel gauge is reading 3/4 of tank it is really a half tank and the when the gauge reads 1/2 it pretty close to empty....

What size aluminum stock did you use? 1/4" thick?
