This actually looks much better than I ever would of pictured in my mind
good work, as with anything like this I’m sure the prep work is most important and most time consuming

Stress cracks could be a good indicator moisture is inside
Would it be safe to assume if you have a “limited warranty” sticker on the back the boat would contain a wood transom? My transom sticker on my 89 cajun believe to be demon model has a...
Bill was definitely happy to have found it in such good condition, don’t think it ever saw the sun or much use during the 28 years of its life
Got all the extra parts of the Cajun the other day. What i think to be an original Cajun Boats Pedal-stool seat, I think to the the original prop for the motor (was painted Red it at one point, don't...
A bad one could also drain your batteries no?
Awesome videos, epic boat and journey
wish I could see some of he build as a new member didn’t get to see his thing come alive through the thread
I was in the same boat with my new to boat that sat for about 3 years.
really only needed new batteries and a water pump and some fluids changed
Plus is from all that I gather they are very well made and crafted boats and were either bought out by mastercraft or was always a division of mastercraft boats.
transoms and hulls are typical...
Joe that would be awesome, would love to work something out if you can locate it!
Incredible story, courage, and sacrifice!
For what model boat?
many online retailers and aftermarket steering wheels available.
New fire extinguisher is now aboard, picked up the lower gear oil and two new plugs to replace when I do the gear oil change.
Need to finish up polishing and sealing the results when i can score...

this is perfect thank you
I am fine with doing that for sure as I have many times in the past on families bass boats, but asking my girlfriend or her kids to do that is another thing.
i don't really like the look of the...
Before doing that just see if some good rubbing compound on a medium pad will take it up before even sanding
I ran across someone near by that had a very similar model to my Cajun boat, but he had a swim ladder attached to the rear, I made an offer for the ladder as I'm not sure where to source one that...
i just went though this process in august restoring back the gelcoat on my 1989 Cajun bass boat (see Cajun subforum for pics)
i went ahead and did the hull of the boat, some places needed to be...
Hahaha
I wish I could take advantage of October this year but pretty booked up from here on out :cold:
That makes sense, so in essence the gel was faded and the wrap was then able to pull some flake?
Have you ever left a sticker on the gelcoat for 15+ years it begins to remove the gelcoat and pulls up the flake when trying to remove the sticker. Hence why I thought maybe after years the chemicals...
To me is sounds like the adhesive chemicals in the wrap began to effect the gelcoat aka pulling out the flake when removing. Boats don't have a clear coat like cars as far as I know to handle the...
That is salvageable for sure
Great install!!
Thanks for the warm welcome fella's!
