I am and have been well versed in the lowrance touch units. I have an HDS9 gen 3. I mounted an hst-wsbl transducer with 200/83khz down lower to catch on plane readings and it works...

I have had them both. Terrova is leaps and bounds better than the powerdrive. The biggest thing is the stow and deploy. SOOOO much smoother and easier on the terrova.

Actually, I have heard of some stories of the LSS-1 not looking so good with the LSS-2 box. Some people have had to use the adapter, and some haven't.

I dont have experience with the 3d, but the white in the water column to me looks like the thermocline.
