Yours must be different than mine The straps inside my rod locker do not have screws. They are round rubber straps that go through the holes on each side of the rod cradles, then get crimped with...
Its hard to find anything anymore that isn't Chinese junk from China.
LOL. I agree with you assessment..........both the trailer fix AND description of previous trailer owner. LOL
What is your prop to pad height? Maybe your engine is too high on the jackplate and once up and running your lower unit is not deep enough in the water thus the drop in water pressure?
Thanks Lightning 6. That is great feedback/info. I have two 12 foot talons on the rear as well and you are right, they are heavy. Your setup is very similar to mine which is why your feedback is...
Just curious if anyone has tried a Mercury Fury prop on a TR196 with 200 Optimax setup? And if so, what pitch?
I'm currently running a 26 pitch Tempest, and the boat performs fairly well, but I...

Yeah, but that's not the straps I am referring to. I'm talking about the ones that came with the boat and are located down in side the rod locker that hold the butt end of the rods.
I added Blue Water Extreme Pro LED lights on my TR196 and had no issues with foam. Just had to access the hull walls through the starboard and port storage accesses which was tight, but again,...
Great idea !! Thanks.
Yes, it looks exactly like the ones on Great Lakes Skipper. But there are no fasteners to drill out. It's actaully rubber straps that go through the holes in the black plastic, then there are brass...
Does anyone know where a person can buy replacement rubber straps that go in the Triton Rod lockers that help hold the rod handles in the cradles? All but one in my 2004 TR196 has now broken. Not...

Those straps are a great idea !!
Well.....this is concerning. I have that same exact trolling motor just a newer version. I had a 2004 version of that same motor up until I replaced it a couple of years ago and never had any...

I agree. With passenger car tires, I'd go with 35PSI. I have Cooper Radials on my tandem trailer and that's what I run them at and they work fine.
I'd suggest the GPSmap 1222 as well if it fit's your budget. I would not want to go any smaller in screen size than 12" IMO.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
That's a good point. Doing the math, that would equate to only 83 days of continuous use. However, extrapolated to actual days on the water, even 2,000 hours could equate to several years of use...
Looks great !!!
I think it matters. Everything wears out and has a lifespan, including electronics. I'd rather have one with 500 or 1000 hours vs one that has several thousand hours on it. Stuff doesn't last...
