yea I don't know why it wasn't getting up to the rpms like before I raised it, I was at 5590 and after I was only getting to 5450. I don't think I had anything extra in the boat as far as weight,...
raised the jackplate half an inch and lost 150 rmp and 2mph...lowered it back an 1/8th from where i started. I'm keeping my eyes out for a 4 bladed prop locally i can borrow.
I have swapped from a 24p tempest to a 25p and was wondering if there is a general rule of thumb for which way to move the jackplate to try and get more gains out of the top end. With the 24p I was...
what speed are you getting with the 25 trophy? i just put on a 25 tempest and am hitting 68 without adjusting my jp. 188 w/ 200 pro xs opti
2x4 and taps with the hammer did the trick, i just didnt want to bust it without having a spare. Thanks!
Today is the first time ive tried to swap props, ive got the hub out of the old prop and when i drop it into the new one it sticks out about 3/4 of an inch. Am i safe to seat it with a soft mallet...
I have a single pole, doubt i could manage to find room for a second pump in the battery area without getting really creative, or switching to smaller lithium batteries maybe.
ahh ok. hopefully i didnt burn anything up going up to 160. I will just take it to the lake friday and test it out in the lake. Thank you!
I'm not sure what the low water inlets are, haven't messed around with earmuffs on boats too much, only my second time. It did have water coming out of the nose of the lower unit if you want to call...

I got a low temp fault last weekend on the lake and verified with my vessel view i was not going over 108 degrees before the temp dropped into the 90s. I...
yea its a blasting stream just idling on the muffs...any common reason that would blow out a chunk of gasket there?
Also would this leak have anything to do with the low temp fault I got on my vesselview? There was bark in the thermostat that I cleaned out which I assumed was causing it to stick open and make it...

Was checking out my thermostat gaskets after installing new ones and looked down inside the cowling and saw water streaming out from what I assume...
Will these fit a 188? Looks about the same going off memory.
I hope so, I haven't got a price for a tank and labor yet. I don't really want a patch job tank...fiberglass work at a good shop was quoted for about $1200
Yea mine does too, he didnt lift the seat up before drilling the trim.
yea it is plastic, the only problem is getting access. Either pull the tank still and make sure there's not more then one hole, and solder, pressure check or try and hole saw out around the one...
Think a Plastic weld or basically soldering it would be a permanent repair? Get it pressure checked after.
Yea a new tank is in the works... i have a quote on the fiberglass work just need to find a replacement tank.
Looks like trying to find a tank for it will be difficult..might have to cut out the ice chest and go with a rectangle shape instead of the C shape...
i just put a 10 inch helix on my dash, had my fab buddy make me up a little bracket that moved it up over the round edges of the gauges.
update: Talked to the carpet shop, sounds like i have one or more holes in my fuel tank from drilling out the rivets from the trim piece. Not sure on what to do next, try to cut out the front face...
I have a 98 viper 188D, I recently had a shop put carpet in the boat and just got it back on the water today. I didn't remember how much fuel was in it so I swung by the gas station and put 15...
I ordered these for mine, they were melted and wore off. Mine is a 1998 188d so im not sure if the layout is the same or not but once you figure out whats what these pop right on.
