Just curious why Caracals don't increase to a 250 rating to push over 80? What is the advantage to the 225?
When they say "flush" they are referring to the jack plate being flush. I messed with mine on a 09 classic 200 opti and I finally got it right. I'm at about 2.5" and running a 8" slide master with a...
Did you figure this out? If not I have a good option I use for the same exact set up your looking at. I can take a picture later if need be. Just let me know
I have a smartcraft gauge. My plugs are about 15 months ol but I oly put like 35 hrs on my motor since he last service.
Hey guys, I was out running the other day and I noticed my top end changed. My normal rev is about 5650 and my boat does about 73 mph there. Now I cant go over 69.5 and 5400 RPM no matter how I trim....
There's another thread that was just up here where guys weighed in on tires. I took the advice and went with some maxxis UE 168's. They're on my trailer now and are bad ass. You can tell the quality....
Just rebooting topic hoping to get more input.
What oils are you all running? I use opti oil exclusively with no problems on my opti motor but am curious about Lucus products.
Man, some guys get a lot out of their motors...
I went out and got the maxxis. They awesome and are way beefier than my old pos tires. They look really good.
Some great information. The more people that give input, the more we can get an idea of how the motors hold up.
Anyone know the stock size for a Panthers classic? I have 205/75/r15 now. Just checking that's right. I got the stalker rims and the tires I had mounted seem too narrow.

Hey guys, I've noticed a few guys asking questions to gather info on which motor to get. There have also been quite a few asking about older motors. So I thought it might be helpful to start a thread...

Raise it up to 3" and go for a run. Start way under trimmed and slowly work up. It sounds like you're getting a ton of slip. Possibly could be a hub issue too.
Update: I had hydolic steering installed, blinker trim added and my mechanic took the liberty to replace a sensor and fuel filter. He found a small leak under the sensor where he said he thinks...
I had a 23 p tempest on my triton. When I first got the boat, it ran 62 MPH. after a few years and a few dings/ sandbars, I had dropped 3-4 MPH. I sent it off to get B&B'd and got those mph back. I...
It is a 1.75. Prop is in very good condition. Not even a ding. The numbers have never changed before of after the service. I bought the boat with about 120 hrs on it and it had a 25 tempest which...
Hey guys, I'm running a 25p fury on a 2009 Pantera Classic with a 2009 Mercury optimax that was just given a premature 100 hour service. Motor has 179 hrs. I'm getting 72 mph at 5600 rpm with a light...
Ok, Im actually going to do this very soon. My steering is crazy tough now. Any of you do it yourself-ers do this? Also any idea of Seastar Vs Uflex? Price and install? Thanks
sweet. Thanks men. Im doing the livewell valve too in the rear battery compartment too. Any tips on that?
if they had an LED sealed unit that contained a battery and switch in the unit, was waterproof and attached easily, that would be ideal. With LED's battery changes are minimal and you wouldn't have...
