The 3 battery tray with a single strap is terrible. I just modified it and added holes to strap each battery individually and it works good now. Definitely get the trays that have straps for each...
Just put a 36v ultrex on my RT 178 with 3 ionic 50's and a 125 for everything else. Plenty of room for the batteries with room to spare. One word, it is awesome, not overkill in the least. Fished...
Which transducer are you running
Yes just have to change the source. This article explains how to do it.

I ordered a nail polish sized bottle from ranger about 4 years ago and it was around $40. Factor in inflation and im sure its higher now.
Yes each unit needs its own power
I always went old school with the snap traps and some spray cheese in a can. Seemed to work well when I needed to eliminate a few.
Nope, no difference in my hands and i have some of both. If anything, i think the older blanks are better.
I dont fish tournaments and probably never will but one of the best things I have done is simplify my tackle selection and get back to basics. Only carry a few colors instead of the entire rainbow...
Thanks JoePA, I will see if I can make contact with him
I have heard and read great things about aurora but i was looking first to see if there was someone local to support that makes good covers.
Sent you a PM, thanks
I'm good on the wiring, just wondering if you sold the breaker mount bars.
Just replaced mine with this one last season and no issues. Leaders carries a lot of Evinrude stuff I couldn't find elsewhere. Looked identical to the original I replaced.
Any good places in SW PA for a custom cover. I am in need of a new one and not going through Ranger again this time. Any suggestions or other experiences would be appreciated.
You will be fine, been doing the same thing for years
Do you guys sell these?
Battery trays in my Ranger tin have been back there for 5 years since i put them in with sheet metals screws and have never moved in that time. Just bought Ionics and they are almost a 1/3 of the...
Yes, it does. Thanks Andy, the batteries look great!
Putting the 1st charge on the new ionics with my Minn kota 330 PC (not the PCL). It is charging but only putting out 13.4 on the meter. Usually the bulk/absorption charge is around 14.4. Just curious...
1/2 and 3/4 is the lightest I go on blades. I use my 7' MH/MF Loomis 845 cranking rod. No need to go finesse in my opinion but others may disagree. A 1/2 blade is a pretty small bait. I want my blade...
Good deal, everything sounded right to me the way you did it
Yeah i dont know but im not an expert either to troubleshoot the issue. I have 3 of the 285's for house, tm, and electronics and all going strong after 5 years. I would try to wire just the 285...
Not sure what the problem is but it sounds like the correct way to wire it up. My question would be why have both a battery disconnect and switchable breaker. I have used the 285 for 5 years in my...
