It’s an awesome motor. I’m still learning all the capabilities. And I think you will be happy with the 45”. Enjoy!
How about all around fishing?
i find the 45” works well. I guess if you are in 3’ swells then the 52” may be better, but it’s coming out of the water too.
I went through the same debate on my 2018 Caracal. I have the rear tanks and I went with the 45inch. So far I don't regret it a bit. I have a 52”on my other boat and I feel like it’s too long.
I faced the same decision with my 2018 Caracal. I was set on four batteries, but after much consideration, I went with three batteries. All are 31 series AGM. I have fished multiple days without...
I understand the intent of the sump is to drain water, I think it would be wise to minimize water getting into the hull. I realize some will get in. The rear hidden compartment allows water in, and...
Thanks all! Took her out for maiden voyage this past weekend and for break in. Got the first two hours completed and an extra hour. I will say the ride was very good. Hole shot with the Yamaha...
Thanks again. I'll post my first impressions when I get her on the water. So far she looks great and as I'm loading in the equipment, it feels very nice.
Thanks guys. I can feel the family connection. Awesome. I'll let you know my impressions when I get her out.
Awesome boat! I just got one too! Enjoy!
Thank all! And I appreciate the input from many of you on this board!
After a long debate...I finally picked up a 2018 Caracal w 225 SHO, Ultrex 112, Power poles and Helix 9's. I haven't even put it in the water yet, but looking forward to it. I hope I'm pleased with...
Thanks bobby8.
Basscat, why? Because the Talon is much deeper in a shorter package. I'm not knocking the power pole, I would just prefer a deeper solution in a shorter package. If I'm spending...
Yeah, I would like to hear too. It seems to me that hole shot being so drastically affected is either prop related or hull design. I suspect people are running props trying to maximize speed, and...
So is the performance / hole shot issues only on Basscat or Basscat Caracals? I do see the Talons on other brands...
The Ultrex gives you a single point of positioning, and I'm sure the boat is vunerable to swing around. Kind of like using one power pole. But I get what you are saying. I guess I see just as many...
Is it normal for these covers to leak? I'm getting one with a new Basscat, but if they are prone to leaking, maybe I should have a custom cover made. Covers on my other boats have been very...
Thanks. I like power pole, I just think the 8 foot model is very limited and the 10 foot models look ridiculous. I have a 12' talon on another boat and it works great. I would prefer the Talon. ...
Has anyone successfully installed Talons on a Caracal? If so, can it be done without rendering the ladder useless?
I don't think it's bad....it will grow on everyone. I'm sure once it's on a few boats and the performance is confirmed, people will find it to be gorgeous.
So I’m in the process of getting a Caracal myself. Personally, I love the size of the Lynx but I’m not willing to spend that much on a bass boat. Even the Caracal is more than what I think these...
In my opinion, The lakeview maps are essential. You gain the more detailed contours and functionality. It really should be included with the unit.
I'm 6'2" and just sat in the Eyra and Caracal side by side. The Eyra is definitely a different cockpit. I found it much tighter (closer) too close for my leg length and my size. The seating felt...
Good points. Basscats point that "this is the last opportunity for anyone to own a new Mercury 2 stroke"...sounds like this may be the last year for the 2 stroke.
Sorry if this is out there, but everything I found is a year or two old. With Mercury releasing their new four strokes, and the 250hp version right around the corner, what is the fate of the 2...
