My old 201 Stratos FS with a 225 etec will hit 70 with a 26 Raker and 68 to 69 with a DAH 25 Gade.
I check that wire all the way back. And get a manual to trace that circuit.
If my memory is correct isn't there a switch under the hood where the shift cable is?
My 201 Fs does chime walks and the first time it did it after I repower it with a 225 etec it was a little unnerving. I run a 6'' jp anywhere from all the way down to up about 2'' from the bottom....
[QUOTE=ford4wd08;7424217]A 20 or a 22 raker? By math you would have had to been turning like 6500 rpm with a 20 to get 60.[/QUOTE
Your right the 20 was good for the upper 50's and I had the 24...
I used to have a 279 FS with a XP150 (1989 that I bought new) and with a 6 in jp she would run 60 with a 20 Raker. I did try a 24 and she would not pull it unless the plate was way up.
I'd drop the motor down a little and see if your slip gets better and your water pressure goes up. I like to see 20 pounds at least at wot. I did burn a hole in a piston on my 225 running it at 18...
I'd buy a renegade then and send it out to Mark or DAH and have them tune it for your use. I had DAH tune my 25 gade and it is faster than my stock 27 gade and it is the best all a round prop I have...
I would give a renegade a try a 23 or a 25 plus a 20 or a 22 Raker might be a good choice. I'm pretty sure when you load the boat up you can't get the nose of the boat up and that's why your speed is...
Looks nice. I'd try a 22 or a 24 Raker on it. A stock gade does not have enough bow lift in it to get the nose up.
I would go with a 24 raker. I used to pull 3 tubes with it on a stock 225 Johnson. the 25 gade is my best all a round prop for my etec.
That run is with a DAH 25 gade. I have a few props and here's my current list.
I did have a land&sea torque shift prop. That was a awesome ski prop and really hard on gas.LOL!!!
23 gade
DAH 25...
I do have a stock 27 gade and that takes forever to get top speed. No lift and it runs 66,67 gps and a stock 24 Raker runs 67 gps.
here's a video of her running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=VZMwHUyzhDc
I have the magnum gearcase on her and with the speedo at 75 it is 68gps. I have hit 78 on the speedo and that's 70 gps. I do have 2 radar guns with one being a stalker pro and it reads about the same...
I have a 1998 201 Stratos F&S with a 2007 225 etec with a hyd jp on it. The boat came with a 99 225 Johnson and a manual jp and the best speed was 65 plus on the gps running a 24 Raker or a 25 DAH...
I think your right.
I think your right for the most part. I had one on mine and it was a 2 piece.
looks good!!!!
I'd have to agree with him. I run a dah 25 gade on my heavy weight 201 fs with a 207 225 etec and she runs 68/69 gps all day.
You guys would really like them. I gain at least a couple miles per gallon verses my old 99 225 Johnson and 5 mph faster too. I can pull 70 gps loaded with just me.
1998 201 F&S with a 2007 225 etec
Time to upgrade!!!
1998 Stratos 201 F&S with a 2007 225 etec upper 60's loaded with 2 people and 70 plus single.
Fish and Ski boats like to run a little deeper so with my Bob's hyd jp I run it all the way down to 1 inch up. The jackplate mounts the motor higher than the first one I had on it. I'd say it is...
That's is what mine will run. I did run that prop stock and it really sucked. I do have a stock 27 gade and that is slower than my work 25.
