My point is that the simple vent fix should be adopted by Triton.

My TR196 would smell up everything and everyone I know with one has to leave their rod lockers open. Seems pretty consistent on these boards as a problem. I'm not aware of this being a common...

Too bad Triton can't address it since it makes everyone so happy. How many years should a problem go on - there are other makes that use the plastic tank and have next to no issues. Maybe a change...

Not really, most of the ones with the problem vent through the cap. The ones like a Basscat without the problem have large vents on the back of the boat. My Phoenix vents through the cap, but has...

Triton has a very well thought out layout and makes a great looking boat (kind of why I own one). Being known for this "gas smell" problem is NOT one of the reasons I bought a Triton....

Also leave the rod compartments open while it is in the garage. The would a, could a, should a, is really not going to get rid of the smell at this point. Adding the vents should do it - thumbs up...
