Don't know about the '91 model, but I have had no issues on my '96 20xd with the 250 pro xs.

I run the 20xd with the 250 pro xs and Gen-2 lower @ 1" below the pad and love it! Plenty of power and no issues at 83 mph, running the Bravo 1 xs 28P.
