you may be able to get a quicker holeshot by playing with venting hole size but hanging 150 lbs 10 inches off the back of your boat creates a lot more drag I.E prop slip
I have solas scorpion 27 pitch props they have built in adjustable venting you can read about them and what people say on scream and fly
go to scream and fly and read about scorpion props by solas you may want to try one of those different blade design but very efficient.
the 200 has a 1.86 gear ratio with a 12 percent propeller slip at 5700 you would go 63.82 slip depends on the load of your boat 1 or 2 people 12 to 15% is a safe number to use what prop is it?...
.
no 4 blade props lift the stern 3 blade props with blade designs like the tempest, solas scorpion, solas pro L 3, merc mirage and others are made for bow lifting in heavy front end boats
tie a cord to the cable and tape so no blunt ends when you pull it out use the cord to pull the new one back in
1 1/4 shaft a rbx 123 from solas
you have to run a prop ring with a trophy to stop the flooding of the blades from exhaust
tempest has more lift than a fury it is in the design of it
9311-111-13 solas with a rbx 117 hub if you want aluminum what boat is it on and what do you do with it
how many splines are there on it 14? put a 11 pitch on it part number 5111-093-11 solas the problem is there is no way you will ever get the boat up so there is not alot of slip from the friction
Is that all the RPM the boat will produce? put a 23 pitch prop on it and see if you get the extra RPM. Merc should be good for aprox. 6000 Max RPM it seem to me you are over propped for the HP of the...
carbs have needles and seats it is all in pumping the bulb some fuel may leak by before the seat is closed it should not be much but can happen
solas s3 24 pitch or 25 pitch 15.125 dia vented removable hub. A little more than 1/2 the cost of a yamaha or tempest. I have most of them in stock
you can use all of the merc parts but the nut. make sure you use the castle retainer and the 3 uf the tabs are set in the indents
it is in break in mode
do a leakdown test that will tell you more on a static motor than hours for the condition of the bore and rings etc.
Do a leak down to get a better idea what is going on
half open is going to be fine that propeller is made by solas and the venting is very efficient on them
if you liked the top end of your prop you could have gone to your local prop repair and had the rake changed to improve holeshot.
if you go to a 24 you will loose mph but just by 2 tenths 62.55 to 62.32 for the 24p rpm will rise to 5400
Solas pro L3 or Pro L4 25p and up
plug holes for better holeshot
dont sharpen the props we as bass boat guys are not surface piercing, props should not have the leading sharpened it does not allow air on the prop and causes water tension on the face of the prop
