I have a `07 188vs, 150 yamaha HPDI. The hole shot is good for that boat- motor set up. The top speed is mid 50s, gps, depending on the load. I usually run around 40 most all the time. Great on gas.
The water pressure gauge will let you know you've got a problem before a buzzer or overheating occurs. I personally would not plug it.
I have replaced two gauges, both froze. If water cant get out it will freeze. My speedometer froze too but I never fixed it. A T-valve sound great.
I have mine balanced. They used the stick on weights with peel off backing. I would not use the hammer on type.
I run endurance tires also. The sidewall reads 65 psi, but I only run 58-60 due to heating up on the road. You want be disappointed.
I too replaced the on board charger and did not put back in the boat, I don't have the confidence to re-wire. I use wing nuts and carry it in a plastic tote. A little extra work but its ok.
I ran into this with two deka batteries this spring. The battery dealer found the batteries to be good, only low. Since my charger was older, I just ordered a new one . Problem solved, charger was...
I replaced the base on my maxum without any problems. I dropped one locknut and lost it. No foam, small hands work better. My boat is 07.
Thanks for the info.
I did not, how hard is it to get off
I did not mean to hijack a thread, I became worried about my axle. I must have got one of the good DTE.
It appears that the bracket is welded to the axle and then bolted to the frame. I could not find any bad welds. Am I looking at this right.
Thanks, it looks like I have a TDE
How would you determine if you have aTDE or UFP.
Nice, enjoy.
My mistake. I thought they were the same as mine. There is a lot of good info on here.
I had oil bath hubs, both went out within a week of each other. I replaced them with vault hub assemblies from Ranger. It was not that expensive if you install yourself.
I don't have the same boat as you. I had Ranger build one for me using the model and hull #. It is a perfect fit and can be removed if wanted. The carpet was a match, unless you knew it was a add on,...
I lube, change lower unit fluid every year as manual states. Also replace impeller as needed. I think one of the best things I do, is to let the motor idle about 3-4 minutes before I head out to warm...
I bought a 188 with a HPDI 150 new in `07, the motor has never failed to crank on first turn. Routine maint. is all I have done. Never ran anything but ethanol free gas in it. IT will run in the mid...
If its in great shape, paid for and your the original owner, I would keep it. Mine has been paid for a long time, the only cost is routine stuff, tires, batteries, ect. Those new boats are fun to...
Mine had a 5 inch in the bow, I had a machine shop make a replica with only the switch holes and exact screw holes. I moved the switch holes to the to the right so the mount would fit. It is made out...
There are a few post on here about the tach. bouncing around. Mine did it and I turned the screw on the back to clean the contacts and reset it to the original position. My tach. worked like a brand...
Im like Jeff, I would call Ranger. They may have a template to use. My 07 came recessed from the factory.
