Discovered a cracked pickup tube from the tank in the boat..however, didn't find any screen/filter on the tube
Could I use the one from my 86 Blackmax 200?
Using that logic I should sell this motor, boat and my van and go invest north of 100k on new rig and boat right...
For starters: 1988 Mariner weight 358 lbs. 2023 Mercury 200 weight 475-511 lbs....
I can try to take better pics....I notice several cylinders that have almost a milk white colored streak up and down in the cylinders (pics of cylinders 1, 3 and 4...4 really shows them)...not sure...
Crank #3 cylinder bearing surface
2, 4, 6
1, 3, 5
I'm pretty sure it is...with that said however, the other motor in my sig I have as well...and was thinking I could take the crank from it. The Mariner is in better condition from what my...
I think I see what you are talking about...spent last 4 hours watching videos on youtube and pics....is it the 2 grey/white discolaration spots right by the ports on the left side of the pic? I will...
What are you looking at in the #6 cylinder?
So, sorry I haven't posted on this in awhile. The whole project ended up getting back burnered. I had to have a neck fusion and then 2 weeks after I finished the physical therapy I was rear-eneded at...
Just a final update. It turned out to be way more than my body, and budget, could handle. So a guy bought it from me for his dad and him to complete together.
As best as I could without running the motor more due to the ticking. Didn't want to risk further damage. Just doing a cold compression test #2 decreased each 5 second crank reading
So, compression doesn't look acceptable to me but I don't know. 1 - 95; 3 - 93; 5 - 95; 2 - 84; 4 - 100; 6 - 105.
Yeah mine did but they couldn't find it and Oreilly's had it loaned out so they ordered another. It should arrive in the next couple hours and then I can get to work.
I'm gonna wait til i diagnose the ticking. Waiting on my compression tester to come in and going from there.
I have a non-stainless 3 blade (I believe it is an original black max that is 23p) and I agree. They do not make the steering cable anymore so I am trying to save for hydraulic steering.
Yes, it had a 4 Blade 24p stainless, I swapped out to the 4 Blade 22p stainless. I also have a 3 blade non-stainless.
I downgraded the prop from the 24p 4 blade to a 22p 4 blade She had some pep...still didn't really have the push to get on the trailer maybe its just I don't get the black max' intricacies, but I...
OK here is what I have done so far:
Ignition coils x6
Spark Wires X3
Switch Box X2
Carb Rebuilt X3
Fuel Pump Rebuilt X1
Starter - Replaced
Starter Regulator - Replaced
Fuel Hoses - Replaced
Yeah it was a bit of a challenge with just a handheld router. The screws are actually self tap ones, no washer.
Anyone happen to have parts for the fuel tanks in these old Pantera 2's?
Here are the pics of the props I have.
The one that was on it is a: Turbo M13 3/4 x 24 with vent holes added at bases of blades (Best that I can tell I haven't been able to find anything in...
Thanks BCB. I got the rivets sorted out. I have since ordered parts from BCB and they arrived and have been installed. I only posted on this again since I am still working on this boat. The 1988...
What pitch props are good for these old hulls? I found a 3 blade 23-m, a 4 blade unknown maker stainless 22 pitch and it has a 4 blade stainless on it now unknown pitch but has vent holes (right at...
