I do have a separate fuel / water separator between the tank and engine. It was installed by the dealer when he hung the engine. I'll do one more thorough visual inspection.
Thanks for the help.
Just changed fuel filter a month ago. Fuel water separator looks clean.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Thank you for the replies!
I'll try a new sensor and update with results.
I did double check the connections. Everything looked good.
I couldn't find anything, but I'm not entirely sure.

Good morning
I have a 2001 Optimax 225 (serial
0G842499) that's getting up there in hours. It's also been less than reliable lately.
I have the opportunity to purchase a completely dressed...
Apparently it was a section of wire that powers the fuel pumps. Just glad this is behind me.
Well, good news.
After spending about 4 hours on it, the tech in STT fond a section of the wiring harness that was damaged. Everything seems good now.
Thanks again for all of your help.
I made it out to the boat again today with better gauges. Up to about 2000 rpm, the fuel and air pressure are perfect. Anything passed that and the air pressure drops to about 55 lbs.
Both fuel...
hstechfl, thanks for the welcome back. LOL indeed!
I can't see any leaks there, and when I put a piece of clear tubing on the VST out put I don't see any bubbles.
Good afternoon
I am having problems with my Opti again. I started a new thread here to kind of consolidate all of the issues from my first post: http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=862867

Well gentlemen,
We took the boat over to the British Virgin Islands this weekend and she ran lie a champ!
Thanks again for being so helpful!
Good morning; a quick update.
I changed the top of the VST hoping that the problem was with the electric connectors to the HP pump. I took it out for a test ride and it seems to have resolved the...
Yes, I dropped some serious cash on this engine. That's why I'm a bit frustrated right now.
I did a leak down test on the air pressure this weekend. It held steady for 20 seconds.
Based on a...
These were all just replaced when I had my fuel rails serviced.
Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions!
The direct injectors are brand new. $$$
I put a gauge directly to the compressor outlet hose and it quickly builds pressure up to about 120psi.
Do you mean the little piece of fuel hose on the high pressure pump nipple?
if so, yes.
It has always made that sound. Could a compressor fail intermittently?
I have not put a gauge on the lift pump but it seems to be moving fuel. I disconnected the output hose and it was moving fuel.
I was very careful with the needle valve. But this also started before I started swapping pumps.
