thanks pat. Dropped it down today to where I have lift and the tail is lower than the cowl. Now, I'll work it back up slowly(1/4 inch) until I get the tail right at the cowl, then post my numbers....

No it's not. That's the only spot. How do I go about fixing it?

see what you think
Gotcha. 25 renegade is worse. Good out of the hole, but not very fast on the top end.
They make separate nuts for both motor guide and minnkota. You may have to buy both and see which one fits since its been modified, then return the other.
ill post some pics of the measurements to let you guys see
Nothing hanging off the bottom. Si transducer is tucked up under the jackplate. It's out of the water while running.
Understand. Just seems a lot different than almost every other 201 setup on here. Could the lack of having a cavitation ring cause slip on the top end? I've never ran one, but just had the thought.
100% sure that it is measured correctly. Even had the marine shop measure and they came up with the same thing. The tail doesn't seem to get down/ prop hook up until I get the prop to pad around 5in...
Thanks pat. It's just so odd, because I've got 30lbs of water pressure right now, and I am already at the lower range of what everyone else is running on here according to the setup gallery....
What does it mean when you don't lift at wot and the rooster tail is over the cowl? Is that slipping at wot with no grip what so ever? Also bouncing off the rev limiter. Basically my stratos 201 is...
I know someone who's got one. It's a 08 model though. Same motor. Like everyone has said on here, you need to buy a full tank of gas and go ride. That's the only way. It's not difficult if you just...
Oh and also, when I bought the boat 3 years ago. The 6 in plate was set at 6.5 in under and was spinning a 25 renegade at 5800 rpm. As I raised the plate to normal staring position(4in) speed...
i know the gearing is 1.86. Not sure of the exact one. But the ss is a total different hull that acts totally different from what I've heard..? I could try a 27. I know someone who's got one.
Was hoping you would chime in pat! Nothing hanging off the bottom. The transducer is mounted under the plate(where humminbird said mount it) but it's a good 6-8 inches above the actual pad and it...
6000 and slipping. It's at 4 now and is acting too high. That's what doesn't make sense. In the owners gallery, the boat/ motor combo, most are getting best speed with at 26 at 3.5in under or a 27.
100% sure. I know it sounds very odd. When I raise the motor above 4in below the pad, the prop will start slipping at about 3/4 trim. Obviously this is the case because rams just keep climbing and...
The numbers I had before were 67 at 6.5in below with a 6in plate. The more I raised the motor, the speed would drop off and at speed, it would start slipping when adding trim. Tach is spot on. I had...
boat: 97 201 pro elite
motor: 97 evinrude vindicator 225
jp:10" slidemaster
prop(s): 25 croxton raxor 3, and 26 tempest plus
Here is the issue. Yesterday, I set the new jackplate at 4" below...
"Trimmed out (tail at top of motor cowl), half a tank of gas, a ton of tackle and me (155lbs) I was doing 72 gps @ 5950rpms and 28-30psi
It would start walking about 69-70"
That was your best set...
cable or hydro steer? I would jackplate it first if it already has hydro steering. With setback and raising the motor, you might get it right with the 23.

how much set back? Obviously the tempest is slipping bad.
