I run the Milwaukie line and for every thing around the yard they have been working great haven't fired up my Stihl saws since last hurricane.

While the it does have a belt driven oil pump. the timing is chain driven.
You can also put a sealant in the tire like "slime" it will keep the small holes at bay. and just a cheep plug kit for the rest.

The 72" shaft on a 16' bass boat would be the deal breaker for me, as for the batteries just do a single 36v lithium. 36v on a small boat can be a good thing just look at Keith Poche's boat.
