What lake? Most places outside the South Llano River the fish are some level of smallmouth/guad cross or spotted bass/guad crosses below Austin on the Colorado.
That fish looks like one of the...
A of times the kick lever also wears on those to cause what you're describing. Common wear part across that whole platform. There's different versions of that same part in lot of reels. It could...
You can use the 5.0's main gear washer in 6.2:1 gears from a Citica/Cruxis 200D without having to purchase another washer.
(just an FYI to readers of this thread).
The pinion on the 200B is different, so that set is out. Also, gearsets are specific to LH and RH
130ish on the 201 and 140-150 on the 51E if they don't have too much rash. They're worth more used now than when they were in production.
as long as the buttcap doesn't cause permanent bruising on hooksets, I don't care.
It doesn't cast nearly as well as the tatula or a comparably (original retail) priced shimano, but once the lure hits the water everything on the reel is outstanding.
Totally worth $70 for a...
the main washer is already "carbontex". I've had no luck "upgrading" the drags on Revo Premier gen 1's with a new fiber bottom washer and have it help anything.
Nope, you get your 5-7 clicks of...
I've got a 6'6" MH. Don't expect it to be anything more than an ok rod. It's no Bucoo.
the 201DPV model is the best they ever made.
Daiwa Tatula spanking that bass?
The Daiwa Tatula is great...the base model is fine to get the "experience". IMO nothing up the ladder is worth it over the base model.
It's also "dirt cheap" at the street price.
for retail price Curado I or Tatula Type R would be my choices
7' L XF St. Croix Panfish series. Amazing rod.
yeah, I would have assumed they used ground shipping or airmail...
Going through the panama canal on that one seems woefully inefficient...
That also sounds like a really good way to wear out the back of your pinion gear where the spool pin fits in as well.
I have a 51mg with 101b gears...makes a lot of difference. I think I bought one of the last sets available.
The Revos have the best feature set of the Doyo reels, but they messed with a winner on the Gen 3 gearbox layout.
The "kick lever" on those seems to vary in material. It wears pretty quickly on the ones that are potmetal and not re-enforced.
The newer ones I've seen have a piece of metal to ease the...
It's an aluminum main, and I think the pinion is different material than the 101b, but the gearset is the same ratio as the 101B.
I've put a set in a 101b before and been happy.
Those pinions are a bear to find. I think I bought the last set Dad's had (his shop is 10 minutes from my house). You can always regear with a 101D/51mg gear set.
gotcha, think you answered my post with as much as you can...;)
lets assume we're using it for freshwater as that's all that matters to me anyway.
I'm really curious about what components you think are of superior quality? It's not like they're gonna make...
The cabelas version is probably the best of the bunch.
