First and biggest thing is transducer location and levelness. Make sure it has a clear path and is level WHILE idling, don't just level your boat at home and level the transducer to that. Those steps...

Also if you press the zoom key on the di screen it will follow the bottom and be zoomed in. Gets a real good pic of what's there

I like the blue pallet for side scan and the same pallet your using for down scan. Just play around with them. With the blue color I seem to be able to adjust my contrast higher before it's too hot....
