I know where to get the idiot lights. I would rather not run them in the...
The diagram is simple. The OE gauge has power. The 4 wires go back to the motor and the ECU controls ground to turn the light on. Super simple.
That's why I was hoping that the gauge I found...
Thank you! I was trying to find that! Their numbering on that page VS what the part number of the tach didn't line up, so I wasn't 100% it's the correct one. This one appears to be "with hour...
Yes, as I said..... No can. No Smart anything. Very dumb. 4 light blubs. I brought up CAN because I was wondering if that was how this tach worked with the OMC. The tach doesn't say what year...
Ok, so I'm getting ready to put my boat back on the water finally.
One of the things I found last fall is my Opti (serial in signature) doesn't have the option to hook to any smartcraft or any...
Those look pretty slick. I may have to build something like that, as my tubing isn't quite that size.
So last fall I picked up a 1998 TR21. The previous owner got an almost new trailer to put under it, but it's not for the correct hull.
The trailer pulls great. Dual axel with disc brakes. ...
Got a look at it last night. All 6 were starting to melt, 6 being the hottest was the first to go.
Next time I stop by I'll try to grab some pics. Last night it was a flash light in the dark.
...
Try disconnecting the illumination circuit to the gauge.
I've seen gauges fail internally where they see the illumination circuit come on and the internal circuits have an issue causing the...
Well... The world may never know.
He was out over the weekend with it. Running about 5200rpm cruising and #6 went down. Looking at all holes, he should have gone up at least one jet size maybe...
We were wondering about possible water intrusion, but it was all 6 plugs, pretty evenly across all cylinders.
Compression test was even across all 6. He doesn't have a leak down tester, so we were...
A buddy of mine has as 200 FF block. Carb motor.
He sent the heads out and had them shaved for more power.
He's running 93 Octane
He's been running Penzoil at a 40:1.
It's still pretty cold...
Well, I put this one on, and it actually fits pretty well.
I'm not overly impressed with the clips, but they are pretty standard for boat covers from what I've seen.
I may make a stop at Harbor...
No one has ran a generic cover like this on their rig? Dang! That's kinda crazy to me!
Dang, the one for my boat is gone. Guess I'll hold onto this Jungle cover... Hopefully it's not a POS.
Dang! And this Amazon one just showed up! Ugh... do I send it back and get one from them?!
I might! I have a feeling it will fit better!
Right now I'm not in a position to be able to afford a custom cover. In my area it's $900-1000 for a custom cover made FOR the boat.
Anyone try the "cheap" covers off Amazon? Do they fit OK? ...
I like that! I'll be making something like that for mine! Thanks for the idea!
I'm going to grab a water proof case from Harbor Freight and mount it there on mine.
I want somewhere water proof I can toss my phone, keys, etc.
I have to measure, but I'm planning on using...
I read through the announcements, but didn't note this anywhere in them. I even read through LOOKING for this. Nothing said not to ask about it here.
Sorry.
Guess I can be a good, bad example.
Anyone have a PDF service manual for the 225 Optimax?
Season is closing in and I like to print one to throw in the truck for a "just in case" situation.
Thanks!
Not to push you away from the prop area, but I'd ask in the Champion area of the forum. Pat amongst others over there know the Champions like no other and will get you dialed in!
Sounds like the 24 Fury has a little more cupping or something than the 23 does.
1998 TR21 here....
There are still a bunch of us running these older rigs.
If you have live of any kind or get into shallow water, YES.
I can pull my trolling motor up about 1/2" before it shuts down because it's to high.
Also no matter what I do in trying to adjust my...
