What is the gear ratio on the LU? Any mods on the motor? Phase?
pa, the porpoise has more to do with the lack of built in setback. Xpress owners usually have bigger motors on more setback so ours are not as bad. But any hull, regardless of design or material,...
Have you view the thread pinned at the top of the page called "Customization" http://www.bbcboards.net/xpress-boats/93728-customization.html
Sorry I have not updated in a while. My kids are in like 4 sports each and I also coach wrestling so everything is on the back burner right now. I only have rigging and carpet left. Just got the...
1.) Mid year 2004 2.) If you contact Xpress and you have hydraulic steering, I think you'll give you a new plate. 3.) This is kind of hit and miss because it was an option pre 2004 but after 2004...
I think you need to rethink that. There is no way the paint doesn't scratch and expose the bondo. Once exposed it WILL soften and the you'll have a mess. You can get Dynaglass at just about any...
Is that a 3.0L or 2.5L motor?
Is it water proof? Most of us use Dynaglass.
Whitedawg, If you have used the right filler you don't need to paint it. I finish sand all my pads with 320-400 grit sand paper to rough it up slightly. If you do this you want to finish sand it...
Very nice!! Looks like both boats are set up well.
Easy fix and not structural at all. If you were close to me, I would fix it for a cold one and a good conversation.
Someone with a newer boat should have a sticker on them with the contact info of the company that makes them for Xpress.
Very nice. You guys have some cute catfish in LA. I've never tried a nook for catfish.
All the above dead on. Weight is about the same so its not a factor. Do they both have the same setback? 254ci vs 170ci. The SHO has nearly 50% more displacement. That is a HUGE difference.

It might not be as bad as you think. Usually the only way the foam gets water logged is from neglect. Letting the boat sit outside uncovers with the plug in or placed where the boat can't drain....
The foam starts under the floor in the front compartments. The floor comes to a point in the center and that's where the foam starts. From there all the way back to the transom the floor is filled....
We have had very few guys with X22 on the board. From what I can remember, a X22 w/ a 300 was very similar to a X21 w/ a 250.
Make one. That's what I did.

Does anyone know what the bolt pattern dimension are on talons? You would think MinnKota would have a template you could down load.
T-Bob, Red x21: The area that you need to check is the foam in the bottom of bilge area near the transom under the floor that the fuel tank seats on.
...
If you suspect you have water in the floatation, the first place to check is in the bilge area. Check the foam in the center step.
When you had a 14" setback on it, what prop did you run?
Is that a 2.5L motor?
