Well I checked the post as you said. I learned looper/closed deck engines didn't come out untill 93..Hmmmm.
Then I read..They were open deck non finger ported loop charged motors until 93 or 94 when...

I except no one wants to type that much, but what is finger porting, and whats the
difference in open, and closed deck.
Is a 91 xp200 a closed, or open deck..finger ported, or not?

I had the same problem with me 91 201 pro/200xp. I removed all but one bolt holding the motor to the jackplate, and lifted the engine straight..then redrilled the holes in the jackplate. Worked fine!...

If I'm not mistaken Rusty told me to not go over 5400.

I've got the same jig as you..92 201, 91 xp200. Mine tries to porpoise too..till you either trim dowm, or add more throttle. Mine is set @ 3 1/2" below the pad....
so setting it higher will stop it?

I know it's heresy to advicate anything but BRP products...but..I've used seafoam for a long time without a single problem. No carbon, plug fouling, or carb cleaning!
I also use XD100 though..!
