Ok thanks, I think I got it. Those are the units I linked too. Overall the frequencies covered by the ducers are the same but the units handle them differently.

Hey guys, I found a very good deal on this unit. I'm interested in trying out the the new Dual Spectrum, Low Q. It seems to me that it's the same in the G2 and G3? Can someone let me know. Thanks

I just did this, not for hours though. I took the ducer off, just at the bolt and left the bracket on the boat. A bit of slack in the cable let me put it in the bucket no problem.

I tested everything separately in the 5 gallon pail with an old saw blade at the bottom. Lots of signal return with it in there.

They all worked, then tested with the Y cable in the system and...

This just happened to me as well with my Helix 12 SI unit. I had to get off the lake because of a storm coming so I was not able to test some things out. I didn't have any surface clutter either.
