Hopefully, the lower unit fix will solve your issues. All in all though, it is very hard to beat a 24 Raker on that hull.
I test drove the Phoenix 618 with F150 SHO at the Yamaha test center Tuesday morning. It had a 22 pitch Yamaha prop and the holeshot with 2 people on board was plenty good. Top speed was around 60 at...
You won't find a wiring diagram, and I don't think they were ever made public. As for any other parts, try C and O Marine, a sponsor on this forum. The 389 was way ahead of its time, and still drives...
yes, you have some sort of significant issue. This rig, with a good running 150 should be turning about a 24 pitch three blade somewhere between 5500 and 6000 rpms at WOT, depending on engine height....
I don't see going any higher in pitch than where you are. Do you have a hole shot the way it is?
Yes, all the 196's were all composite.
hsb is really close on the weight estimate.

If possible, post a pic. This may jog my...
no, I sure don't, but I wish I did. About all I have is maybe a brochure or two and some OMC boat group clothing! I sold the HS clothing a couple of years back.
I'll be glad to help anyone on the...
I wish they were still made also. I'd still be working for them. Coolest stripe in the history of bass boats.
South Mississippi, on the Coast. Brackish water river fishing.
I know this is an old thread, but any 196 out there is all composite, no wood. I worked at the plant when they were built and designed.
I would think that was around a 1200 pound hull. Maybe a 75 mph boat?
