Our 20 year old dishwasher recently went out, and I replaced it with a Bosch. Very happy with it. It's extremely quiet.
I had the same problem. If yours is set up like mine, there is a hose that runs from the vent/overflow to the disposal. Disconnect that hose and clean it out or replace it.

A friend of mine had the same thing built on Toledo for the about the same cost 6-7 years ago. He built that first before he started on his house.
