I've had problems with that exact rod so I went with a rod geeks c4 blank, they list the diameters for every 2 inches on their web site. With the one's I've found are all in 1/2 mm, you can only get...
I've only built 5 of them , all seem to be as advertised , no issues and happy with them.
Maybe I should inspect with a fine tooth comb upon delivery, maybe I should static test for guide placement , I've not had any issues with Mudhole's quality or guide placement recommendations on the...
With the quality of what little I've seen and experienced, I would never buy another NFC blank again. Quality control must be joke when leaving out on Friday afternoon !
I've building rods for about 3 yrs now, I get cross eyed trying to figure out a quality product. I read and try and try to learn from various sites and decided the NFC X-Ray must be a good product...
At 1 time there was a link that showed how to set the various settings on multi units connected together sharing devices. I had it printed out but guess what, I lost it and I can't find the post...
Tight wad !!!
Thanks for the info, I think I'm gonna try and replace all if I can talk him into it.
While I tried to talk him in to replacing all the guides, I'm just replacing a running guide on a Micro guide Ghost rod, not a micro magic rod, don't know if they are the same or not.
Can anybody...
Hermitage was open today, fishing truly sucked though !
Building a 8 ft crankbait rod, trying to determine reel seat position to help hold under arm for the deep crankbaits, trying to take some of the stress off of my wrist.
Every 1 I've seen has grooves in the tip !
Heading to Pomme for a few days, need all the help I can get.
Will be there Sat thru Wed.
Sounds like it should work, sure is a good looking bait.
How does a guy get a hand full of them.
Fishing it on a light line. Makes it harder to bury the hook.
I would love some of them on 1/0 light wire type hook, but I am a light line kind a guy.
Where is Sheridan located, I'm in South east Mo.
Does the Fury require a different thrust kit than the Trophy, changing props {being shipped}, trying to get my ducks in a line.
Thanks for the input, not sure which way I'll go yet, seem to have plenty of time to decide ordering hardware from Mudhole, 11 days is a little to long in my opinion.
I also bought a 736-1 X-ray. The finish on the rod appears it will be a pain to wrap. It has a rat tail file finish to it, they are claiming un-sanded for better feel, so I assume a guy is to leave...
How about 2nd coat, assuming everybody else does a 2nd , seems to need 24 - 36 hrs to not have a tacky feel to it, I usually wait 48 or more before 2nd to make sure 1st is dry.
I'm new as well, completed 5 rods now. I've read the same thing and I'm buying into the un-treated thread theory. If finished color is critical you might want to lean towards the pre-treated because...
I built a rattle trap rod this summer on the MHX CB845 Blend from Mudhole , I'm very pleased with it. Seems to launch a trap a country mile to cover open flats with.
Will probably build a 2nd for a...
Nice work ! When you run wrap over thread, do you coat the 1st wrap before wrapping on the 2nd color thread ?
