Keel guards stick just fine, if the job is done correctly. Keel guards are a must imo if you are going to beach your Vexus. These boats scratch very easily.

I'm happy I got my 1880 4 yrs ago. Can't touch one now. Crazy how much more expensive it's become.
Having one Power Pole is better than having no power pole. But,, you have to be strategic on when to deploy it depending on the wind and current.
I throw long leaders a lot and I found if you tie the wrong leader knot, it can be pita casting. FG knot fixed that problem for me.
I have a 7 foot Megaware Keel guard on my 1880. Highly,,,, highly!! Recommend one. Kicking myself for not having a keel guard sooner!!
I do. Its on a bracket on the starboard side of the boat. I have a boat ladder on the port side. A single anchor is ok. I would prefer 2, but I would have to lose the ladder in future if I decide to...
Good to know! Thank you. My 1880 will be 4 years old this summer and I have yet to be able to remove the rear seat.
The urban canal peacocks fared better than the pea's in the Everglades from the last big cold front we had a couple of weeks ago. Significant exotic fish kills in the Glades.
As mentioned, other than Lake Trafford, a 30-40 min drive East to the Everglades and you will be golden.
A BFS reel on ML rod will launch those jerk baits with ease. I use a KK Zephyr on a custom 7 ft ML NFC blank. All I can say is wow!
Depending on where you will be staying, the most Northern area of the state to fish for Pea's is Delray, then you can move South from there. Everglades, Miami, etc.
That never gets old. As matter of fact, just today, as we're idling out of the ramp area, a kid from one of the other ramps yells out, Pretty boat!!
Do you have an automatic bilge pump.? With that volume of water the bilge should have gone off several times. If you don't have an automatic bilge, then I strongly recommend you get one. As far...
That's awesome. Congrats on your purchase. Enjoy that boat.
If you beach your boat a keel guard will definitely be beneficial.
Longer forceps type pliers also work in these situations too.
Depends where you are staying, and how far you are willing to drive. I always use Holiday Park as reference point. But you also have other ramp options along US 27, and several ramps along Alligator...
I can tell you that the Everglades is fishing ok right now, and that's with 90+ degree water temps. Its only going to get better, unless we start having cold fronts early this year. Then our bass get...
^^^^ This!!! ^^^^ :thumb up2:
Docking isn't the only situation that causes scratches. Although I understand why it keeps getting mentioned.
Unfortunately the paint does scratch very easily. No matter how careful I am, my boat has its fair shares of scratches.
Short answer, you will be more than fine. Enjoy the new truck.
Lateral epicondylitis. Tennis elbow, fishermen's elbow, all fall under this category. Sounds like you have a chronic case of it, which will take a while to heal. Orthopods will just give you steroid...
Damn. Sorry to see that.
I have had this issue from day one with my drain plug. The newer models have since moved the drain plug lever to the rear of the boat, mine is by my throttle. When I close the plug, even with...
