I would go with 20 oz carpet........that is probably what came in yours. You can compare 20 and 24 oz and see the difference. If you try to upgrade to a heavier carpet, you will run into problems. ...
Not to be negative......the higher you move the center of gravity the easier you will have roll from side to side. If you are not careful, you could make it too heavy and unbalanced.
My advice...
Most any tackle dealer / store that carries the dye. Bass Pro does. But, you can probably get it local.
Get the Dye neutralizer.......doesn't matter how long it's been on there......it'll take it out.
