I think it is normal for them to spin at high speeds. My old motorguide tour would spin as well.

I had this happen on my engine. It would run great at lower rpm but if You got in the throttle it would act as if it was running out of gas which it was!

jaxbass, You may have seen my old 21xdc there. Steve is removing the old carpet and installing charcoal over red Sea Dek in it
Take a look at Gatorbak bunk covers. They act very much like carpet when loading or unloading at the ramp.
