It's is only locked to that chip. Can use it in other units. Bob

You might think about getting one Navionic and one Lakemaster. LM has quite a few HD maps for Missouri.. They would be listed on the HB site.

The gold is put on to prevent oxidation. Dirt and oil is what the swab is for. There will be no oxidation unless the gold is worn off. I too am familiar with electronics. I worked on them for 37...
Just a word of caution, The eraser will ware away the thin gold on the contact with only a few firm strokes. Alcohol on a swab is the best way to clean them. Bob
